IT training specialist Quasar has launched a series of video-based online learning materials.

Covering Microsoft Office 2010, Upgrade to Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft Office 2007, the series of e-videos – known as Anytime – is intended for organisations which want to gain the maximum benefit in terms of worker efficiency and effectiveness following an upgrade of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. They are also available to individuals who want to improve their Microsoft Office skills.

Anytime uses hundreds of short e-videos that have been specially designed to maintain the important balance of the audio, visual and kinaesthetic elements which are necessary in any successful learning process. One of the system’s benefits is that users can watch, pause, rewind and replay the videos as many times as they like on a PC, laptop, mobile phone or mobile device – as long as there is an internet connection.

“Producing Anytime is a new venture for us – because we’ve built up many years’ experience in delivering instructor-led IT training,” said Quasar’s managing director, Michael Shane. “These e-videos – devised, designed and scripted by us, with professional audio in British English – is primarily intended for the many thousands of organisations planning to upgrade their Microsoft Office software from 2003 to 2010, either now or over the next 12 months.

“If you, or your organisation, are going through this process – and living the nightmare of having to organise relevant training, get people and the business up to speed quickly, efficiently and all on a finite budget – Anytime maybe for you,” he added. “Depending on the number of people involved in your project, the cost can be as low as £6.19 per user per year.”

Central to the system is ‘My Anytime’. This is a personal and customisable online portal to each user’s learning programme which shows what e-videos are available, what’s been done and what everybody else is doing.

In addition, the ‘Anytime Professional’ version of this software – for corporate clients including HR departments – incorporates reports of each user’s learning status, interventions taken, re-taken and not taken.

“If you’re serious about keeping up-to-date with learning and development methodologies then Anytime has a lot to recommend it,” said Jaqui Hodgetts, Quasar’s head of training. “We believe that it’s a fresh, inspirational and motivating way for businesses to deliver and for workers to receive IT and skills training that minimises the cost and maximises the benefit – and it’s available ’24/7′, whenever it’s required.”
